Blacksmiths cast firebacks out of iron to help prevent damage to firebricks and to radiate heat out into the room. Today, Minuteman seeks to carry out the same traditional embossed or plain designs brought to America by colonists while protecting your fireplace brick and adding a touch of elegance to the focal point of your room. Each Minuteman fireback is made of cast iron and "boots" may be used to hold the fireback upright and raise it off the floor if extra height is desired. Minuteman firebacks can be used with gas-log or wood-burning fireplaces.
