Michael Healy - Brass Fleur de Lys Door Knocker

Seen as a contemporary floral design of the past circa the Byzantine Empire, the Fleur de Lys door knocker is a symbol of royalty and refinement. The literal meaning is "flower of the lily." It has also been said that in context of the origin the true meaning is "flower of royalty."
